Certifications & Affiliations
All of our crew leaders come to us with a fundamental understanding of building science, whether as carpenters, plumbers, HVAC technicians or home improvement contractors. We build upon that foundation of knowledge by requiring all crew leaders to have, at minimum, a BPI Analyst and BPI Envelope certification. Our company is accredited through the Building Performance Institute.

Building Performance Institute (BPI)

The Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI) is a national standards development and credentialing organization for energy efficiency retrofit work. Quickly becoming the national standard for home energy assessment specialists, BPI is the highest level of certification achievable. Lantern Energy is an accredited BPI company, and we employ professionals certified by the BPI.
ENERGY STAR®

A joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, ENERGY STAR helps us all save money and protect the environment through energy-efficient products and practices. Over the past decade, ENERGY STAR has been a driving force behind the more widespread use of such technological innovations as efficient fluorescent lighting, power management systems, and low standby energy use.
Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET)
The Residential Energy Services Network was founded to develop a national market for home energy rating systems and energy efficient mortgages. RESNET member auditors and raters are committed to the highest level of quality and ethics.
Better Business Bureau
Lantern Energy is an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau. The BBB evaluates businesses against high standards of marketplace trust, and provides objective, unbiased information on the character and competence of organizations to consumers.
Connecticut Municipal Electrical Energy Cooperative (CMEEC)
CMEEC finances, acquires and constructs generating resources and implements power supply contracts for the purpose of furnishing low-cost and reliable electric power to members and participants. Lantern Energy is a CMEEC-approved contractor for single- and multi-family energy efficiency program.
Insulation Contractors Association of America (ICAA)

Lantern Energy is a member of the Insulation Contractors Association of America (ICAA) is the trade association for residential and commerical thermal insulation contractors. The ICAA develops and executes programs which keep its members on the leading edge of valuable information and knowledge in the rapidly changing world of insulation.
Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund (CEEF)

The Connecicut Energy Efficiency Fund (CEEF) was designed to help residents and businesses to get in the habit of using energy more efficiently. CEEF offers incentives, rebates, and other innovative programs that address Connecticut's rapidly growing energy needs and costs.
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program (NYSERDA)

Lantern Energy is a contractor in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program designed by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to help homeowners and renters reduce energy costs and to provide energy efficiency training to contractors.
