Gary Rawlings, Lead Energy Technician

Gary worked for a tool company for many years as a Floor Supervisor and Machinist. He comes to energy conservation as a second career.  Gary owns a horse farm and the practical experience gives him a good general knowledge of the building trades.  Gary has acquired proficient technical skills and his customer satisfaction rating at Lantern is unsurpassed. Certifications include BPI Analyst, BPI Envelope, BPI Heating Specialist, Lead and Asbestos.


Dylan Cruz, Lead Energy Technician

Dylan has worked with Lantern for two and a half years.  He is one of our youngest team leaders and one of our most proficient in advanced air sealing. Dylan’s certifications include BPI Analyst, BPI Envelope, Lead and Asbestos. Dylan is an assistant wrestling coach at Portland High School.


Ray Hewett, Lead Energy Technician

Ray is our Lead Energy Technician for Norwich Public Utilities. When Ray isn't driving his Lantern Energy van around Norwich he is driving golf balls straight down the fairway. Ray holds BPI Analyst, BPI Envelope, and BPI Heating Specialist certifications.


Fred Bliven, Quality Control

Fred’s previous experience includes inspecting buildings for safety with regard to structural integrity, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, woodstoves, and supplemental heating systems. Inspections included one to four family homes, outbuildings, farms, and small commercial. Fred is a member of the Lyme Conservation and Inland Wetland Commission. Fred’s certifications include BPI Analyst, BPI Envelope, BPI Heating Specialist, and HERS, Lead, and Asbestos. Fred and his wife manage a horse farm in Lyme, CT.


James Nazarenus, Field Supervisor

Jim has responsibility for overseeing field staff and ensuring that proper specifications, performance, and operations procedures are met. Previous experience includes 17 years as lead supervisor for WDJ Construction Company for a construction crew of 150. Certifications include BPI Analyst, BPI Envelope, BPI Heating Specialist, Lead and Asbestos. Red Sox fans don’t take it personal, but Jim is a true Yankees fan!


Kevin Murphy, Lead Multi-Family Technician

Kevin is our Lead Multifamily auditor. His overall responsibility is for ensuring quality work and control at work sites.  Lead technical person for overseeing all field procedures and technical assistance to all field staff.  Previous experience includes over 20 years of a construction background which includes lighting, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Certifications include BPI Analyst, BPI Envelope, BPI Multifamily, BPI Heating Specialist, TREAT Multifamily Certified, Retrotec /Army Corp Multifamily High Rise, Lead and Asbestos. Believe it or not, Kevin reads technical manuals for fun!


Mike Kuttles, Field Supervisor

Mike is our Field Supervisor with the responsibility of implementing and managing our residential MA and NY Programs. His certifications include BPI Analyst, BPI Envelope, Lead and Asbestos.
