Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund (CEEF)
The Connecicut Energy Efficiency Fund (CEEF) offers low interest rates for full term on loans. The application process is simple and 100% financing is given on qualified improvements.
Effective February 1, 2012, for a five-month period ending June 30, 2012 CHIF will offer an "Insulation Loan" of $1,000 - $2,500 for insulation measures and necessary advanced air sealing. The loan will offer 0% interest with up to a 36-month term, and it may not be bundled with other measures. Underwriting criteria for these Insulation Loans will be as follows:
For CL&P Customers: Applicants may not have any 60-day late payments on their CL&P electric utility bill for the prior 12 months. If they do, then the standard Residential Financing underwriting is required. Proof of residency and verification of utility account number and property address where work is to be performed is required. Approved loans will require on-bill payment through CL&P. An electronic application for this loan will be available online at www.CHIF.org starting February 1, 2012.
For UI Customers: (natural gas- and electric-heated homes only): Applicants must have a FICO credit score of 640 or better. Proof of residency and verification of utility account number and property address where work is to be performed is required. Approved loans will require on bill payment through UI. An electronic application for this loan will be available online at www.CHIF.org starting February 1, 2012.
